Write and host webinars for biopharma industry professionals. Interview scientists and other subject matter experts, write all content, including slides and speaker scripts, and host live events. Write white papers on a variety of biopharmaceutical industry topics, including digital marketing techniques, AI, clinical trial technology, pharma manufacturing, and more. 

Palo Alto Medical Foundation / Sutter Health
Editor, 2015 and 2016 PAMF annual reports. Developed story lineup, wrote feature stories and doctor profiles, edited donor lists, and worked closely with designer at all stages of production. Also provide editorial services for quarterly magazines.

Wrote articles (pdf) on Kentucky LEADS, a lung cancer education and early detection project funded by the BMS Foundation.

American Society of Nephrology
Designed and implemented social media strategy to increase ASN’s visibility among journalists, medical students and physicians. Developed the ASN interactive site from the ground up using WordPress; developed systems for monitoring and sharing nephrology news daily on social media; trained staff on social media. Wrote blog posts, background materials, editorials, SlideShare presentations, press releases and more. Managed all social media channels during major medical conference, including blog posts, Facebook, Twitter, daily Storify wrapups and media relations. See samples.

Writer, editor, photo researcher. GSD Update, a newsletter on invasive species, from the U.S. Forest Service’s Rocky Mountain Research Station.

Editor, Middle Rio Grande Basin Research Report, a consumer newsletter on research funded by Forest Service. Developed story list, assigned stories, edited all copy, researched photos, supervised designer.

American Medical Association
Wrote 32-page patient education booklet on depression, covering diagnosis, treatment, and coping mechanisms. AMA distributed 500,000 copies. Wrote similar booklets on hepatitis C and overactive bladder, and CME programs on hereditary cancer syndromes and chronic bronchitis.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
Managed the update and rewrite of an endangered species recovery plan for the Rio Grande silvery minnow, working with a large team of scientists and others from numerous agencies and tribes.

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
Wrote patient-friendly web copy on many aspects of cancer for the Center’s website.  Also developed three comprehensive digital patient education programs, on breast cancer, leukemia and nausea, guiding readers through diagnosis, treatment and emotional issues. Organized the interactive structure of each and wrote all copy.

Wrote several chapters, edited physician-written chapters and compiled extensive appendix of health resources.

Aegis Creative
Wrote portions of extensive background documents on diseases (chronic lymphocytic leukemia, thrombosis, breast cancer) and their management, to be used as educational tools for pharmaceutical sales people.

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NIH)
Edited the Report of the Stroke Progress Review Group, working with 15 committees of doctors tasked with outlining the future of stroke research. Supervised staff of medical writers during conference of the participating doctors and edited all copy.

Nature/PBS
Wrote websites keyed to several wildlife films, including “Echo of the Elephants,” and “Forces of the Wild,” giving viewers a look behind the scenes at filmmakers, researchers and locations.
